Baby brother is here! We are SO excited, and I have a great excuse to do lots of online shopping during those lengthy late night nursing sessions. I love the challenge of finding cute and functional, nursing friendly outfits. Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite pieces for all those hours of nursing and “lounging” at the house.
But first, a picture of the little man. Here he is, Titus David in all his newborn glory!
I will be sharing more pictures of this snuggly guy soon, but for now I hope you find these postpartum outfit essentials helpful!
Split Back Sleep Tee These split back pajama tees are not meant for nursing, but I thought they would work great as nursing tees because of the open back, and they do! I wear them as a warm and cozy tee over a nursing tank. I would size up one or two sizes for an oversized look. They do shrink a little bit. I am a small pre pregnancy and I got a medium, but honestly think a large would be even cuter.
Pajama Set This pajama set is a great hospital bag essential, especially if you had a C-Section. The shorts are loose fitting and soft, and the top is button front for easy nursing access. I wore this set the entire time at the hospital, because the leggings and other pajama pants I brought were putting too much pressure on my incision. This set was so comfortable and just what I needed.
Target Nursing Tanks These are absolute essentials in my book! I bought a couple of these with my first child almost 5 years ago and still use them now. I have since bought them in every possible color. They are great to throw on under cardigans or tees to create a quick nursing friendly outfit for on the go.
Zella High Waist Leggings I bought these leggings during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but haven’t had much of a chance to wear them because my bump got too big too fast! I decided to try them on about 11 days after my C-Section, and these leggings are seriously miracle workers! They are tight, but they give you good compression around your mid section and after a day of wearing them I actually noticed a huge decrease in swelling in my stomach and I had a belly button again! ha! I’ve been wearing them on repeat ever since and they are worth EVERY penny. I sized up to a medium so they would be more comfortable during early pregnancy and post partum.
Ruffle Tier Tank I scooped this tank up in gray and black because I thought it would work great with a light cardigan for spring, and transition right into summer. It’s a great basic to extend your nursing wardrobe.
Double Layer Tee Another great basic to enhance your post partum wardrobe!
Aerie Open Cardigan I’ve been wearing this cardigan around the house non stop! It’s so cozy and it’s on sale right now! Great for spring because it’s warm but not too hot. It does shed a little at first but calms down after you wash it a few times. Looks adorable over a nursing tank and leggings.
Aerie Lace Bralette I have been searching everywhere for a bralette that actually has some support. I was in love with the ones from Free People, but they had no support whatsoever so I sent them back. These are adorable, supportive, and nursing friendly. I love them under a cozy basic tee. I got one in black and white, but they come in several colors. They are also on sale right now, for under $20!
I hope these nursing wardrobe essentials are helpful to all of you new (or not so new) mamas out there! My next quest is for a nursing friendly Easter dress, and I would love your suggestions! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, now that I’m (hopefully) back to blogging regularly! Thank you for reading and supporting this blog!
